Our touchless dispenser is metered and therefore reduces consumption from day one. Gone are the days of the "full spin" and mounds of paper sitting on the floor. It's a waste that we can no longer tolerate both in terms of expense and the environment. This dispenser will start paying you in 4-6 months!
Most consumables in the public restroom are metered - except the toilet paper.
Let The Savings Begin!
BIOtouchless conducted a study with the TP-100 to determine whether a toilet paper dispenser that dispenses predetermined lengths of toilet paper would reduce the overall usage of toilet paper. It is well known that the installation of automated paper towel dispensers reduces the amount of paper consumed by 30%, on average. So, it was hypothesized that the same would be true for toilet paper.
According to a survey by a leading global provider of paper, 35 percent of Americans say they typically use more toilet paper than needed when using a public restroom. The survey was conducted online, by The Harris Poll, among 2,049 US adults ages 18 and older, also revealing Americans’ preferences toward business’ sustainability efforts in public restrooms. Among millennial women (age 18-34) the percent admitting to using more toilet paper than needed is a staggering 45 percent.
The TP-100 is configurable to set dispense lengths of approximately 20 or 24 inches of toilet paper for each dispense. For our study, restrooms were equipped with a BIOtouchless dispenser and dispenser data was collected for approximately 90 days.
From this study, BIOtouchless was able to calculate an ‘inches-per customer” comparison demonstrating significant savings. At the end of the study, it was found that customers utilizing the BIOtouchless dispenser used approximately 50% less paper overall.
Using less paper also means fewer flushes per user. It is admittedly more difficult to measure, but it will be less. The BIOtouchless dispenser will improve the sustainable profile of your business.
It may not be the biggest expense you ever save running your business but cutting the amount of paper that you store in your supply closet (that never seems to be big enough) may prove to be your greatest joy from this purchase. If you use half as much, you only need to store half as much.
With two rolls of high-capacity paper, you can assume that custodial personnel will make fewer trips to the restrooms for paper replenishment. Customers will also experience fewer uncomfortable outages. Small businesses will see a reduction in the frequency and the time that employees must spend on restroom upkeep.
