The Challenge

Mountain View School District is a K–8 district located in California’s San Gabriel Valley, serving approximately 4,500 students across eight schools, plus the educational needs of roughly 490 preschool children. Like most public school systems, the district was managing high-traffic restrooms where paper waste, hygiene, and consumption costs are a constant, compounding challenge.

The Solution

The district installed BIOtouchless’ TP-100 automatic touchless toilet paper dispensers in every public restroom stall — making Mountain View, according to BIOtouchless, the first school district to offer a completely touchless restroom experience.

The Result

School officials project a 50% reduction in toilet paper consumption district-wide as a direct result of the metered, sensor-based dispensing design — while giving thousands of students and staff a fully hands-free restroom experience.

"The market is embracing touchless technologies due to health, ROI, and convenience reasons. We applaud the district for its vision and commitment to the health and wellbeing of its students and teachers."
